THE BOOK OF THE MONTH
Quote of the week
"The glory of friendship
is not the outstretched hand,
not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship;
it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one
when you discover that someone else believes in you
and is willing to trust you with a friendship."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

First and foremost, I should write this letter laid dormant for too long, but who writes letters nowadays? By continually hesitating, one ends up getting lost... Everything leads me to write, giving up the fear. A letter is mysterious, it carries the words away and makes them travel, crossing the oceans. It withholds its secret as it journeys, and arrives one morning, full of emotion, concerns, questions, joys as well and everyday little things. Fragile and strong, it gives a lot in spite of its lightness…
What to do in September?
Here is the autumn literary season! Therefore this is the good time to select new books for pleasant fall and winter evenings. September is wonderful to enjoy the outdoors, have a walk in the woods and feel good. September is also the month for festivals: the Deauville American Film Festival which takes place from September 6 to 15, and the Dinard Film Festival from September 25 to 29. Take advantage of the European Heritage Days from 21 to 22 September to visit castles, monuments, theatres, parks and gardens. There are still some blackberries to pick in September, they are delicious and excellent for the health.
